A Partnership Created
for Our Patients
The
Heart
Center
of MetroWest and The
CardioVascular
Center at
Tufts
Medical
Center are joining forces
to keep your heart healthy
An Affiliation You
Can Take to Heart
The Heart Center of MetroWest and Tufts Medical Center share a firm dedication and commitment to providing patients with outstanding
cardiac care. As a result, we’ve formed a partnership that gives you and your
family convenient access to the most cutting-edge cardiovascular services and
treatments, including pre and post cardiac surgery care, right here in the
MetroWest community. For our patients, everything will remain the same – only
better. You will continue to see your same excellent HCMW cardiologists and
most procedures will still take place at MetroWest Medical Center, but now you
will also have seamless access to Tufts
Medical Center’s renowned cardiac surgeons and the state-of-the-art
facilities of Tufts MC’s CardioVascular
Center, when needed. HCMW and Tufts MC are excited to work together to advance
cardiovascular care in the MetroWest region, while ensuring that receiving care
is as coordinated and convenient as possible for our valued patients.
Expanded Care for
HCMW Patients
HCMW will continue to offer extensive cardiology services,
including advanced cardiac
imaging, cardiac
rehabilitation, electrophysiology, cardiac
catheterization, echocardiography and advanced diagnostic
testing and imaging. But in some complex and progressed cases, our patients
might also need access to a cardiac surgeon or leading-edge technologies.
That’s where this partnership comes in. HCMW cardiologists will work side by
side with Tufts
Medical Center cardiac surgeons to ensure our patients receive the most
sophisticated care available. In some cases an HCMW physician may perform a
more complicated procedure at Tufts
Medical Center’s CardioVascular Center or if a bypass
surgery or a heart
transplant is required, that surgery will also take place at the academic
medical center in Boston. All other services will be brought right to our
patients, in MetroWest.
Expert Tufts
Medical Center cardiac surgeon Duc Thinh Pham, MD, Surgical Director of the Heart
Failure and Cardiac Transplantation Clinic, will provide weekly pre and
post-surgical consultative sessions for HCMW patients in Framingham, saving our
patients the drive to Boston. Having the surgeon onsite is not only convenient,
but also ensures that the patient and his/her family members can have all their
questions and concerns addressed in the comfort of the HCMW offices.
These expanded benefits mean that our patients will have the
finest experts in a wide variety of specialties at their service, providing
exactly the care you require, when you need it.
Tufts MC Nationally
Recognized for Quality and Safety
Our new partner, Tufts Medical Center,
is not new to the MetroWest region. HCMW’s relationship with Tufts MC builds on
an already robust adult and pediatric affiliation between the academic medical
center and MetroWest
Medical Center. Many families in the region have already benefited from the
comprehensive relationship the two medical centers have developed since 2009.
HCMW and MWMC both chose Tufts Medical Center as an academic medical center partner for its unwavering focus on patients and
its dedication to the highest quality of care and patient outcomes.
The highly-respected University HealthSystem Consortium
(UHC) recently ranked
Tufts Medical Center #6 in the nation among academic medical centers for
quality and safety in its Quality and Accountability Study. The annual study includes six criteria that
the Institutes of Medicine have determined to be the best measures of patient care:
safety, timeliness, effectiveness, efficiency, equity and patient
centeredness. No other UHC academic
medical center in
New England placed in the
Top 10. HCMW is honored to partner with
an organization ranked 6th out of 98 academic medical centers in the
country. We are confident that when advanced services and surgeries are needed,
your care will be in the best of hands.
